Markesha Jackson embodies vision and perseverance in the realm of early childhood education. Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she still resides, Markesha has dedicated 15 years of her life to nurturing and developing young minds. Her journey in education began as a preschool teacher assistant for Spartanburg School 7, laying a solid foundation for her future endeavors. With a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg and a National Director’s Credential from the McCormick Center, Markesha has not only acquired formal education but has also applied this knowledge practically to establish a childcare empire catering to children from birth to 12 years old.
In 2019, Markesha’s dedication to expansion and accessibility in childcare led to the opening of a second childcare center, Building Blocks Academy, widening her reach and influence. Additionally, she established the Building Blocks Foundation, a nonprofit organization aimed at supporting women and staff by providing tuition assistance, ensuring that every child has access to quality education irrespective of their family’s financial status.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Markesha finds fulfillment in spending quality time with her family and enriching the lives of the youth in her community. Married for six years, she is a proud mother of two amazing children, D’Aundre and Keyonna.
